Delivering the internal communication and engagement strategy and managing the in-house recruitment team, including an apprentice. I also work closely with HR and other Senior Managers across the business.
I have been working on the L&D and HR specialisms where I identified skills gaps. I am currently also leading on the design and rollout of a number of training activities, which I have had to learn the content and processes for.
I am enjoying the programme and am getting a lot out of it. I have noticed a difference in my knowledge and behaviours in a short time and this is helping me in my role.
I think that the programme is well structured, sessions are booked in well in advance which helps with organising my calendar/workload. I don't think it has been as easy to locate where to find information, which seems to be in a number of different sites. I think more thought needs to be given to this and highlighting the different systems that will used, as although it may come naturally to the training company, it is completely new to me.
I am being fully supported by my employer and managers throughout the business have been happy to help and encourage my development. They are all aware that I am completing this course and have got involved with providing feedback and looking at ways they can help me to gain the experience I need.
I am aware that the training provider is there to help when I need them. I have an online link to book time with my tutor when needed. I also have check ins with my line manager and tutor on a regular basis.
I have a more detailed knowledge of my business and ways of working, which has helped me in my current role. I also feel more confident approaching various scenarios and recommending different methods of training.
There are a number of professional ENGs in my business and peer support groups that all colleagues are invited to get involved in. Colleagues also regularly organise their own social activities outside of work. As part of my role, I have arranged fun days and other engagement activities to improve colleague experience.
Yes
I have had the opportunity to grow and been fully supported with my career goals. Every single colleague I work with is extremely approachable and willing to help, no matter what the subject. I enjoy working within this inclusive culture where colleagues are encouraged to follow their career path and have the chance to develop and progress.
Find out about our company in advance, there's lots of information out there to refer to ahead of an interview. Be yourself and don't be afraid to sell your skills and experience. If you enjoy a busy, varied workload, it's a great place to work.
