I am not hired as an apprentice, I am doing it to better my skills and knowledge in my roll. Although the apprenticeship itself has not taught me anything new, its very much developed my skills and understanding of the bigger picture. This includes why we have the organisational structure/ culture that we have. How things we do impact other things etc.
I am enjoying this course, however I do feel there is too much work due for the apprenticeship for the timeframe Im given- I always have to do lots of work outside of my working hours.
It is well structured and organised in a sense of you are given an assignment every 2 months to complete. However, tasks in-between these differ in length of time to complete so some of these periods of time there is far too much work for time.
My manager is very supportive, but i do feel more time a week is needed to complete the work needed.
My skills coach is very supportive and will always offer extensions if he finds Im struggling. However as he has 40 students, he cannot give all of his students his full attention, so i feel my apprentice provider should hire more skills coaches.
Very much. It is giving me knowledge which is giving me confidence.
Ive not seen any in my group.
