My job role entails looking after and providing the best level of care for my residents. I help them with day to day tasks and provide safety and comfort for them. I’m my job it also helps to give people as much independence as you can and promote wellebeing
My newest skill I’ve learned is how to be able to communicate in many different ways, for residents that might not talk, I’ve learnt many different ways to be able to speak with them. I also learnt about the different types of dementia
I enjoy my programme even though it’s just began, the only thing that scares me a little is the idea of being voice recorded in every assessment. Other than that I enjoy the programme and I really like my trainer, she’s so friendly and helpful which gives me confidence in myself
It’s very structured, I was shown step by step how to access it at the beginning, it’s easy to understand and everything I need it titled so I can see clearly where I need to be, all of my tasks are in one place also which is good to know
I don’t receive much help from my employer as they’re usually very busy due to the conditions in our home. The manager doesn’t come out so we don’t get the opportunity to speak to her. My peers are confident enough to help me when needed so I know where I can get support
I receive lots of help and support from my training provider, they set me assessments up and are able to talk clearly all the way through it to better my understanding of what’s being asked, then they make sure k have enough learning sources to help me answering questions
Honestly, I don’t think it has an impact because nothing has changed in my work while I’ve started the programme, it’s just helped me to understand safeguarding and duty of care as those are the first two modules we’ve began to learn about so up to know it doesn’t impact my role much
There isn’t any extra curricular activity that I’m aware off
Yes
It’s full of friendly hardworking people, despite the minimum wage pay, it’s a nice place to work for.
Experience goes a long way.
