Providing the best care for the children, assist mealtimes. Supervising activities to ensure that they are safe (safeguarding) . Cleaning and tidying the room to reduce the risk of slipping over toys. Building a positive trustworthy relationship with parents and carers, as well as with the children.
Learnt to be independent and act on my own initiative. I have learnt company policies and procedures in practice. Working in a team and independently. I am learning to communicate with parents, providing feedback as well as how to use the famly app and paper work (accident forms) .
So far I am enjoying the programme though the way of professional discussions is new to me. It is sometimes difficult to get the work done due to staff ratios and not being able to get out of ratio to attend live webinar, though my mentor has supported me throughout.
My mentor is great in communication and has set me work to complete, well organised and easy to access. Some of the activities I need a bit more guidance on as I'm unsure of what is expected of me.
Fair support, though at times when short staffed things can become stressful in that environment and sometimes feel listened to. However, the support that I get from my colleagues is helping me build on my learning and progress in practice, picking up on their experiences.
My mentor is very supportive and is always there to help
Offer positive feedback and expands my learning with explanations. Setting tasks to build my understanding of why children act and behave in certain ways as supported by the work set and webinars relevant.
Staff meetings. Award night mayi say thank you event, all staff have the option to attend yet to go ahead this month.
Yes
Colleagues are kind, caring and build positive relationships with the children. Well run nursery. Routine in the rooms provide structure and the children are able to grow and develop into their own individual characters. Build strong, trustworthy bonds with parents and colleagues . In work, I have become more confident in myself and social skills.
Nothing comes to mind at the moment
