Procuring and Managing Sub-Contracts and managing our clients commercial expectations on a project.
Yes, learned many skills on the job since starting with Mace in 2018.
Work side very enjoyable and beneficial, university side can seem excessive at times given the majority of the course does not relate to our job. University consumes a lot of weekends as well so difficult to find time to switch off and socialise outside of work at times. To be told RICS recently needs to be complete prior to receiving degree has almost dramatically increased the workload as have only less than a year to complete this.
Yes
Very well structured company, good group of colleagues that are willing to provide the platform for you to develop. Only improvement I would suggest is to integrate the degree and work if possible to make this more applicable to the every day role. Would be more efficient if the degree could be based on your how you are performing at work and frequent assessments to track development.
Keep your head down, work hard, and listen to your more experience colleagues to understand the different details and processes of a construction project to build your own knowledge base.
