Team Leader role involves overlooking daily tasks and issues of the care setting (from health and wellbeing of the residents to organising maintenance of the building itself), organising and supporting care staff work, ensuring staff provides person centred care, and communication with wide range of people - families, health professionals, specialists, hospitals, social workers etc.
I consider myself at the beginning of the apprenticeship, but even self learning tasks have shown me new perspectives and made me look at things from different viewpoint.
I am still figuring out the practical part of it due to mostly doing job what I have been doing.
I really liked the structure on the paper. I miss face-to-face sessions (even online meetings) when subjects can be talked and discussed, views can be exchanged.
My employer is very supportive and encouraged me to take on this apprenticeship.
I suppose I would receive full support, I should ask for more maybe. I would expect from provider and tutor to be more interested on what I do now and what I know now, so they could advise better. Because same job role even in different care settings might involve different responsibilities and experience.
As I am only at the start of the program, I hope I will be more confident in my current role to develop my confidence further.
No, do not have time for that.
