Within my role I book goods in and out as well as serve customers either over the phone and/or at the trade counter.
I have learned many new skills as well as developed existing skills/characteristics and this has allowed me to become a lot more confident within my role itself.
I thoroughly enjoy my programme as it is not only informative but also interactive. It also keeps me on my toes so that I can always be on the front foot.
The programme that I am on is well organised and structured and my tutor has a lot to play into that. It has allowed me to gain a lot of knowledge over the span of a year that I never thought I would endure.
My employer is always there for me if I need any support, as at the end of the day if I do well the company will do well. However, it's not only that but if I struggled with anything my employer would always clear some time so that I would be able to discuss said problems with them, and then overcome them.
I receive a lot of support from my training provider by having monthly check ups as well as every so often my tutor will come into the office in person and they are then able to see how I'm progressing which gives both of us a better understanding of what I may lack in and potentially need more help with. Also my tutor is always an email away, therefore if I didn't want to discuss something with my employer I could send an email to my tutor and the response would be quick and effective.
My qualification has allowed for me to understand a lot more of the ins and outs of my job role. This is great because I quickly felt part of the team even when I knew that the company had a very close knit team. This then ensured a better performance within my role as I felt very comfortable which lead to a greater workflow of the whole team.
Yes, there has been many opportunities for me to get involved in which are work meals, the work golf day, and the CIBSE dinner (Black tie event). Having these events not only gets me closer to the team but also allows for me to talk to suppliers and/or customers, which helps me to build relationships easier.
Yes
This course has been very eye opening, and I have gained a lot of knowledge that I may have thought I already had at the start of the course, coming from a Customer Service Assistant job role. However, even if I had some experience like that it would never have prepared me for what I have learned over the course of a year on this programme. There have been many niche things that I have picked up on which have allowed me to flourish whilst undertaking this programme.
The advice that I would give others when applying to this company would be to not overthink it and if you think its right for you just hit apply. Its a great environment to be involved in. It has had a massive positive effect on not only my career but also my life in general.
