  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really love my programme. Aside from enjoying the subject matter, everyone I work with is really welcoming of the apprenticeship scheme and as such are always willing to help me. I'm also given a lot of flexibility to explore things that interest me and as a result I have never felt any 2 days to be the same and monotonous.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is really well structured. We are given 6 rotations where we are rotated between different teams in the function, this enables us to meet lots of new people and build our knowledge and skills across many different fields. The programme is well embedded into the rest of the function and moving between placements is seamless. We also have lots of support we can turn to.

  • There is a lot of support from the training provider. We are given a talent manager who helps manage our progress and keep us on track. • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are absloutely loads. We have a wide variety of established communities that we are encouraged to get involved in which in turn offer all sorts of social activities and events. Our sponsorship of many charities opens opportunities for fundraising challenges, as an example recently we had the opportunity to go to Morroco and climb the Atlas mountain range for chairty.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Lloyds Banking Group to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • They really do care and value us as apprentices, we are treated the same as any other colleague and given the same benefits. The apprenticeship programme at Lloyds is established and sophisticated and this programme in particular exceeds the industry average in quality. My ambitions are supported and promoted and I have been given so many excellent opportunities to give me the best possible start in my career.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
  • My biggest piece of advice is to be knowledgeable about the Bank and the scheme you are applying for when you apply. If you were going to apply to the programme I am on then research audit, be aware of what it means, what we do and see if your skills align to what audit require. Also, research the bank. Know the values, the strategy, what we do, what products we offer. When in any sort of interview make sure you look and sound motivated. Being knowledgeable about the scheme and the company and being seen to be motivated and ready to learn goes a long way.
