  • The job is varied and changes daily. We rotate into different teams each year, I am currently in the Business Future Careers team. My current role involves the attraction and recruitment of potential early careers students.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have had so many opportunities to acquire new skills and develop others. It ranges from more basic skills such as time management, organisation, communication to more business orientated skills such as commercial awareness, stakeholder management and project management, and lots more!

  • I have thoroughly enjoyed this programme! It's given me the opportunity to try out so many things, also to build a robust skill set and knowledge that will greatly benefit my career.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is structured well. BT have a dedicated team to ensure the programme runs smoothly and to help with any issues. Also, our line managers are well informed about the structure and the requirement for study and learning time.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There is a dedicated team that provides support to all early careers. They have also created networks and communities to help us feel more supported and offer guidance. Line managers at BT are very understanding of how these programmes work and constantly offer their guidance.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training provider offers lots of support through their online resources, as well as 1-2-1 calls to combat any issues.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification is very applicable to the workplace at BT. The knowledge we gain from the training provider gives us the opportunity to specifically understand BT and how we can apply our knowledge and skills that we have learnt from our studies.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are lots of activities available to get involved in, This includes netball and football teams, social outings to the local pub or fun networking opportunities at big events, Also, the inclusion and diversity teams offer activities that support all cultures.

  • It is a great opportunity to find out what you want to do and where your passions lie in the business world. It allows you to build your skills and knowledge in a relevant industry in this generation. It also offers opportunities for careers progression and changing career paths.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT Group?
  • Be yourself, find out what makes you stand out, what are your passions and find out why you would be a good fit to BT, whether that's the technology we create or the initiatives we have started. Dig deep into what BT does and the impact it has as we do a lot more than just phones and broadband!!
