A 4 day working week involving attending meetings, completing placement work and networking with many teams within the business. One day a week is dedicated to university learning offsite to learn the principles of Project Management. As well as this there are 12 weekly reviews to track progress with skills coaches.
I have developed many behavioural skills like leadership and teamwork through induction into my role, working within a functional team and networking whilst at university.
I really enjoy my programme as there is something new every day whilst being in a routine. There is lots of support from managers and skills coaches to aid with any queries about the course.
The structure of the programme is well organised fitting placement and uni work into a normal working week. The only limitation with the structure is fixed training to develop a set of skills outside of placement with my cohort is fairly limited.
There are various contacts that have been provided as support systems which aid in supporting me with my learning and experiences.
The training provider supports with learning however sometimes there are inconsistencies with teaching that affects how we learn with each tutor changing and less engagement and support when delivering learning online.
My learning for the qualification has provided me with a base knowledge for performing some activities within my current role however due to the nature of the placement only some knowledge is used.
There are frequent networking events within my team, cohort and wider project management community however these are sometimes not used to their full advantage. There are limited social events to network with individuals on my cohort and only meet once a week at university.

There is such a vast range of opportunities to excel in your career, find a new career, learn new skills and engage with different individuals. The benefits of pay rates and holidays are great too. They have something for everyone and cater to each individual with support systems in place.
Ensure you research the role you are going into and any other opportunities and attend events BAE are holding so you understand where you may want to lead your career.
