currently my role involves arranging the headcount of my department at the start of shift and continually monitoring to ensure processed volumes meet operational strategy
Through the CMDA at Manchester university I have learned new theory and the differences between the Amazon way and the majority of other organizations
I enjoy the opportunity to gain knowledge and the networking with people from different backgrounds
Manchester metropolitan university side is structured well and has been a very enjoyable experience. The on site Amazon side of the apprenticeship has not been organized or structured well at all. Limited help for the most, with the majority of the time being ignored or belittled. Giving the impression that this is nothing more than a PR gimmick for Amazon designed to falsely advertise their commitment to "Hire and develop the best". When the truth is they want to be seen as offering opportunities internally to their associates but rather take new hire graduates as this then boosts their numbers of people in their organization with degree level qualifications.
on occasions good support but out of the whole CMDA (2.5 years) I would say I have had good support for around 6 months. The rest of the time it has been nonexistent
MMU has been excellent in their support of me during the whole qualification, I could not have asked for a more helpful and professional training provider.
The training I have received is currently wasted in my current role, this is because the advanced techniques that I was trained in are better suited for a Area Manager not a team lead, only the rudimentary potions of the theory have relevance. If at Amazon or a different employer I get the opportunity to advance to a managerial role, then I believe the MMU has set me up well to meet and exceed the requirements
yes there are multiple options to take part in social activities and network wide events
No
To many roadblocks in the path of progression for internal aplicants
gain experience and knowledge, but do not think it will be a job for life and a easy progression options
