  • Being a first year apprentice, my day to day routine varies based on the day. On mondays I spend my day in the classroom learning relevant engineering information such as maths, electronics, and mechanical principles. tuesday-friday involves learning various hands on engineering disciplines such as machining, electronics, hand-fitting, and PLC's

  • I have developed a large range of skills during my time at BMW group. these vary from practical hands on skills and the theory skills listed in my previous response, to work based skills such as communication, teamwork, and critical thinking.

  • i thoroughly enjoy my program and look forward to coming to work. each day is interesting and provides me with knew information

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • the apprenticeship is somewhat well organised. during my course we have faced some disruption due to tutors leaving and not being able to find replacement staff.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • i receive adequate support from the workplace, there is support for mental health, physical health and training for a range of different topics and subjects

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • i receive lots of support from tutors, this includes being provided with help when i asked and having sufficient learning resources.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • i feel that the qualification will greatly prepare me for my role, this is because it teaches the basic skills and knowledge required, which will be expanded upon when i enter my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • there are very few extra curricular activities, and when they do exist we are often not made aware or given the opportunity to participate as certain people are told earlier and therefore get first choice.

  • be confident and research the company and job role. understand what you are truly applying for and have a genuine interest in the role and company.
