My role is supporting higher management in the successful running of the business from customer service to money handling and answering phones ensuring health and safety is followed and equipment is maintained to a higher standard, making sure training is given to staff and any help is available when required.
Yeah I have learned how the business works on the sales side our profit vs loss where we can improve areas within the business. Learning new procedures as they are implemented within our restaurant and also new staff hires and new opportunities within our store.
The tasks set with in the program have made it less boring and a more investigative way to learn about the business and how it works sharing knowledge that I didn’t not know I already had with my team and the new ideas it helped create to maybe introduce to my store
The program is very well structured it’s easy to follow and full of learning opportunities.
The support from my employer has been unstable due to business circumstances but that is the type of business I am in and the customer comes first so understandable for the most part.
At the start of my training there was a-lot of confusion due to mentors leaving receiving a new one with no communication finding the was not much help but since being assigned my current mentor the help and communication has been great and very helpful I am now on my way to completing my program
It has made me look deeper into helping the business succeed instead of going in and doing the standard objectives, giving me ideas to help boost the sales and customer service provided by my store and the staff I work with
We do have a yearly football tournament but other than this there is currently nothing outside of work for the team. In the past we did host murder mystery nights and random quizzes also paintballing.
Yes
I personally think working at McDonald’s builds confidence in people the business offers flexible working hours so perfect for working around schooling universities and child care. There is never one day the same and working with so many people often create’s new friendships and belonging.
It is a fast pace business and it can be overwhelming to start but always remember that all staff started in the same position so everyone understands how your feeling to start. Help is always available when needed from crew through to management but always ask for help when it’s needed as there will always be someone there to give it .
