  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a Trade supervisor, I look after my Tradesmen. I deal with Account reviews, Upgrades, Quote work, Front of House Merchandising, Money Handling and Finance. I work with Top Spending customers making sure that I can give them the best deals to keep their trust. Building trust with other customers also.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have been learning many more skills since being promoted in December. This is a very challenging job and you need a lot of patience but I thoroughly enjoy my role.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • My programme is very interesting so far and I feel challenged enough that I can continue to to do my day job without my apprenticeship being an interuption.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well, the schedule was set from the get go, which meant I could get all my training booked in. This has been very useful for rotas and holidays.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A lot of support but I feel it could be a little bit more supported or remembered. I feel I need to book in my apprenticeship time a bit better.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Whenever I have a question, I also message Felicity and she always helps me almost instantly. She lets me know thoroughly what I need to do so I am very grateful.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It helps me a little so far. Most things I have learnt so far are already things I know how to do or have been doing in my role as Trade Supervisor. It has been giving me pointers so far so I do still appreciate it.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We book in a night out every quarter for our team to enjoy to team building outside or work. This can include playing sports and having a picnic or having dinner and going for drinks. We are a great team.
