  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I normally cover the lines daily with breakdowns and do planned maintenance on machinery that isn't running. I work alongside the shift engineers as well. I attend the engineering morning meeting daily.

  • I learnt a lot about electrical fault finding, mechanical fault finding, PLC work, contractor management, LOTO, driving MEWPs and taking on responsibility in an engineering environment.

  • I do enjoy it, it is an interesting place to work

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Kind of organised - college days are all organised but you are put with the shift engineers with all APLs not being line side and can't really see what you are up to day to day.

  • I get support I need from engineering side

  • It is predominantly up to you to get work done and evidence, they push you to an extent but it's mainly down to you

  • It makes you more aware of your job and the importance it has throughout the company and the business. Also, you learn more making you a valuable asset.
