  • Apprentice Hgv technician, day to day is Doing wear and tear repairs like break pads and service items and inspecting the lorry’s on their 8weekly PMIs.

  • While being at collards my skills have Developed massively with the help of other technicians and being able to work independently.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The program is enjoyable but some tasks on the gateways are outdated as you won’t see many people in the industry complete those jobs.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Pretty well structured and organised rarely there isn’t a plan for the college day.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I get a lot of support from other technicians in the workshop and everyone at collards with my apprentice, either that be learning something new or strengthint skills i already know.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Throughout my apprenticeship I have received much help from the college with them helping me understand certain topics.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Going though this qualification definitely has developed my skills and my knowledge to be able to preform at this job better

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Theyve recently started a ‘5 a side’ games every Thursday evening. They also do a fireworks night once a year and a Christmas party.

  • It’s a good company to work for, if you have a problem they’ll always work something out to help the situation and there is a lot of surport in your personal growth within this company.
