DMS Analyst Review

I am a DMS Analyst My role involves reviewing the ways in which we work at the bank and coming up with new ways to do things and to get new ways for the customer to interact with the bank.

I have learned a whole range of skills including things like, presentation skills, communication skills and listening skills. I have also gained a HNC in Computing.

I really enjoy the programme. It has given me the chance to go straight in to work as I don't feel I would do as well if I went to university first. So I believe this is a great opportunity for those who don't particularly do well academically but are determined to achieve

I feel very valued at RBS because there is a constant stream of support and opportunities to do things. There isn't a time where I can't ask for something and the answer to be told to me or for me to be pointed in the right direction.

The programme is organised to an extent. The induction and training is there and good. But training that comes a year after we start and for us to do our job effectively isn't very efficient. Also not knowing anything that we will do until we join the team that we are put in isn't very useful as what is expected from the description on the application can be completely different to what the apprentices are doing.

I receive full support from my training adviser. Any questions that were to be had during the running of the course were answered in quick succession to being asked.

I have a constant support from my manager. We constantly have meetings in order to discuss any problems I have and how solutions can be met to solve them

My Salary is very sufficient for someone of my age and skill set. I do have a daily travel cost of £13 which is vastly met. All my costs are covered by the pay.

There has been many social outings and activities planned which I was more than welcome to join. There was also a Voluntary initiative in which we went to a local park and did some unkeep of it.

I believe that this is a great place to work and a great place for you to start your career. You get all the knowledge by going to college then put it into practice and get some work experience as well

Just try and be as open minded as possible. RBS want you to come in and change the way in which things are done for the better and give the best customer experience to customers that banking has ever seen and this should be done with the newest and greatest tech.
