Managing day to day operations of a prototype manufacturing facility with a team of 20 technicias
Learnt lots of new skills and developed existing skills in multiple ways, requirement to manage a team has been a large learning curve for me and taught me many things personally and professionally. I have gained exposure to the wider business broadening my knowledge in a range of processes and organisational activities
I enjoy the program as it gives me a valuable opportunity to learn new knowledge and skills which I can then apply into my day to day role, I enjoy the seminars and compiling the evidence towards my apprenticeship although the theory and online learning can sometimes be repetitive. I feel it has been invaluable to me to learn more theoretical knowledge of operational management which I can now apply practically to produce my evidence.
The program is well organised with lots of support available to me and regular progress reviews with my tutor, my tutor is always available to answer any queries and questions I have and has supported me fully throughout my journey helping me along when I have felt stuck. The seminars are spaced adequately to allow me time to do my work in between and complete one unit at a time instead of having to juggle multiple workloads with regards to my qualification, I feel this is essential in a part time course considering my already heavy workload in my day to day role
I have received good support from my manager and leadership within my department when I have requested it (being allowed to lead projects that will contribute towards my learning and evidence) which is all that is required in my opinion, the learning and requirements for the qualification I am undertaking are quite autonomous, and as such do not require much input from my employer.
I feel the support available from accipio is very good, there are multiple people I can contact in the event of me needing support and they are always quick to respond with a concise and clear answer to my issue, I feel that they excel in their handling of queries and the extra support they offer to their delegates.
I feel this learning has been invaluable to me within my role and also gives me knowledge and skills to move forward with my career, there are a number of different techniques I have learned that I have been able to apply practically within my role and will continue to apply in future.
We have varying extra-curricular activities including EEEC volunteering work, networking events that you can attend and varying employee action groups.
