Daily risk assessments Planning learning opportunities. Working together with parents and carers. Observing and tracking progress. Safeguarding. Personal care routines. Preparing snack. Lunch duty. Health and Safety. I start my day with a daily risk assessment, and then set the activities up for the days learning, depending on what my job is that day (snack,Nappies,Lunch duty) I will undertake one of these, I observe the children to help when I have to complete my tracking on my key children, I will play with the children trying to extend any learning opportunities.
Yes many, how to observe and track children's progress developmentally. How children learn and the theories behind that. What signs to look for with regard to safeguarding. The importance of partnership working and how this can massively help a child's progress and development and also how to look for signs of SEN and what to d o if suspected.
I love learning all there is to learn, my only downside to it would be the of the job part, and the rules around what does and doesn't count and when you can and cant learn and log, for instance I would happily learn in my own time but I cant log this as not done during my working day.
Very well done, such an easy program to follow with the option to look further into parts if you wanted by doing more research, my only down side for the structure is that all learning is expected to be done during the working day, I would happily watch more webinars and do more independent learning outside of my working day if I was able to log this as of the job hours.
My employer is fantastic, always really helpful if I have questions I need help to answer or when doing research around company policies, nothing is ever too much. She is also really good at carving out time from my working day to be able to complete tasks i have and also to be able to create the things I do.
My tutor is great, she is always available if I need her, and always makes me feel great after a professional discussion or review. I have quite low self esteem and she is so great at helping show me I do know what i'm doing/talking about and even nominating me for apprentice of the year.
Incredibly, I can definitely see the difference in my practice since undertaking my NVQ, because I have more knowledge around patterns of behavior, the way children learn and the expected learning development I feel more confident in being able to spot when a child is struggling and also what to put in place to help them thrive.
We do have things that are organised, for instance at the end of the summer term we go out to celebrate another year completed, at Christmas we go for a meal, they have previously done a challenge of three peaks and we are hoping to do something big again, then there are the fundraisers that are organised.
Yes
Ludgershall Pre School has been an incredible place to work The staff are so friendly and really helpful, I have never once been made to feel inferior to them and always made to feel like I know what and how to do things, and in the instances where I don't I have never felt like a burden to be shown/explained what I need to do, they are always more than happy to help.
Be yourself, show why you would be an assett to the setting and remember the most important people when being interviewed.... the children, If shown around the setting, take notice of the and don't be scared to interact with them, at the end of the day it is them you will be working with most, and those that matter most.
