I go to college 3 days a week and work 2 days a week. When at college i am doing both theory training and also practical training. When i am at work i rotate between all of the departments every 3 months which is good as it allows me to gain experience in more than one aspect of the company.
I have learnt alot of skills i never knew before joining Cummins due to being taught by very experienced and knowledgeable people.
I enjoy my role for ay reasons, firstly it is very challenging which i love. It is never boring as you are doin g something different every day. The work is very interesting.
It is well organized and structured, it is hard to fault the program,
I get a lot of support, if i ever need any support mi can ask my main manager or my mentor i am currently working with and they will be mire than happy to help.
I get a lot of support at college, some teachers are more supportive than others but there is always someone to ask for help.
It has taught me to be m0ore professional when at work, i know how to carry myself. It has also got me used to certain terminology that is used in an engineering/ manufacturing workplace.
There are some extra things you can do outside of work for example football. Social gatherings are often planned in some departments.
Yes
It is a very welcoming environment that challenges you t to get the best out of yourself. A lot of my friends and family have noticed the change in the way i am in a positive way since joining Cummins as an apprentice.
Work hard and make a lot of friends in the company who you can go to for help. uit is better to work as a team than individually as different people have different strengths.
