  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Problem solving, developing software to address key business goals and questions. Visualising patterns and trends in data and communicating these to a variety of stakeholders.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I began with no coding experience however now code independently every day and enjoy it thoroughly. I have also developed a strong understanding of statistics, and have become able to explain concept ideas to non-technical stakeholders. My self-confidence and communication has grown dramatically.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme. I am thoroughly supported by my line manager, the early careers team and my learning provider. There are a wide range of development opportunities as well as networking socials. Experian take great care to listen to feedback and continually develop the programme.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well structured; there is clear communication from Experian and the Early Careers team throughout. The whole onboarding process was really smooth and the induction week prepared me well to take the leap from sixth form to the industry.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have received good support from my employer at all stages in my apprenticeship. I engage in frequent feedback discussions to share what is going well and where I need more support. As there is a large community of apprentices at Experian, there is a good support network around you.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Experian has been very flexible and supportive with my apprenticeship, giving me a good amount of time to work toward my qualification and other development opportunities. There are resources and regular external speakers who share tips on issues like time management or assignment writing.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The degree apprenticeship has allowed me to introduce innovations into my team and deliver real value to our products. It has also given me better self confidence in my abilities, allowing me to present to a wide range of stakeholders. The apprenticeship aligns well with career progression opportunities in Experian.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many clubs such as football, yoga and board game club. These are hosted by our extensive GPTW team which host other activities such as sports day, a summer BBQ and regular socials. There are employee resource groups to get involved with such as Women in Experian and EveryMIND (wellbeing focused), as well as the Early Careers social commitee.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It has a wide range of apprenticeships that are suitable at any level. They support you throughout and make a concerted effort toward developing you as an individual and professional. There is a strong support network due to the large number of graduates and apprentices, and the programme is well developed, structured, and ever-improving. I am also making a meaningful contribution, and am recognised for my efforts and strengths.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Experian?
  • Show your passion for your area, and your ability to drive your own development. These are both really important to thriving in any apprenticeship. Do your own research on the company, there are many streams and services - one of these may really interest you and make you stand out from the crowd.
