Supply Chain revolves around the movement of goods, it includes things like transport, logistics, resource planning, and procurement. On a day to day basis I trend to create packs and workbooks for head of business reviews, as well as this I communicate a lot with the shop floor to understand their current work levels and get information about work packages and their statuses.
Yes, I have learnt many new skills throughout my duration of the apprenticeship. Some examples include; communication, teamwork, excel, and many internal business systems.
I think the programme gives me a big insight into the different areas of Supply Chain, and I've enjoyed seeing different aspects of the job.
I think the EPA process could be structured / communicated better, as things seem to be last minute news, rather than advanced notice.
I have been provided with all the time necessary for my studies and college work, and always feel comfortable knowing there are people there to help.
Any issues / questions are always dealt with / answered quickly and in good detail. I always feel supported and know there is someone to go to if I need support.
It gives me the background knowledge to understand what roles, like logistics and procurement, do on a day to day basis, meaning if I go into one of those roles I understand what the basis of my job will be.
Many, I am a STEM Ambassador, meaning I attend careers fairs, networking events, etc. As well as this there are many events where people can go and get together and share their opinions on certain subjects.
