Corporate Manager - completing daily excess report daily, answering and making telephone calls, writing and replying to emails, everyday tasks include account closures, refund service charges etc.
I have developed my telephony skills and communciation skills.
I enjoy the programme - settled in the office, met new people, feel part of the team, feel valued as an employee. I didn't know what to expect, so therefore had no expectations.
I feel valued as an employee. Customers are appreciative when I have contacted them/helped them out. I would like to be more involved with tasks and be taught how to carry out more tasks - workload could be more.
The bootcamp led by BPP was a great introduction to the world of work, BPP and RBS. Meetings with assessor are useful. However, structure regards exams and when to complete units of work by are not all that clear - becoming more familiar as apprenticeship goes on - information given to both myself and assessor is fairly vague.
My assessor is always on hand to help - I receive a reply soon after I send an email, feedback is useful, in particular marking of first unit - was aware of where to improve.
My employer continues to ask how I am getting on. My buddy/mentor is getting me involved with daily tasks.
I am very happy with the salary I receive with only being an apprentice - a lot better than other apprentices I researched prior to joining RBS.
Company activities - in the process of organising a netball match between staff, christmas party. I play tennis, spend time with friends and family and on an occasional basis help out my previous employer when I am not at work.
Yes
Looks to be opportunities available, e.g. job rotation.
Be yourself, confident and research the bank prior to interviews/application process. If going into corporate/business area other than retail, get some work experience in a branch to make yourself aware of the processes. I would have liked to be told more about corporate banking before coming into the office for the first day.
