  • Transport Planning Apprentice, assist my placement manager with given tasks.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I have developed strong communication and collaboration skills through working on team projects. I have learnt about project management, spatial planning and improved my GIS and Power BI reporting skills.

  • Learning new things and meeting great people.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of my placements are amazing, we rotate to different directorates every 6 months and go to college for blocks at at time.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A lot, the placement managers are always so helpful and really knowledgeable. I also have a line manager who looks out for my well being and supports me throughout my apprenticeship.

  • They give me some time during working hours to complete assignments.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The training provides me with a wider understanding of transport planning, it gives me a the context and explains why I might be doing some tasks.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, always events and online training . There's football league, netball team.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The people are so friendly, culture is warm and kind. The work is also really interesting and there's always support.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Transport for London?
  • Research and do some work experience to get some examples to talk about. Volunteering is always a good start.
