In the apprenticeship we learn how to maintain equipment within the plant and in the first year we learn how to use different machines such as milling, turning etc... then we use those skills into year 2 where we do placements around the plant in different buildings shadowing the maintenance. We then get put into an area in the 3rd year and stay there and in the forth year we do proper shifts in that area.
yes, i learnt how to use all sorts of machinery and how to use all sorts of tools. I have further developed my communication and teamwork too.
I like it as there is always something new to learn everyday
It is good
there is plenty of support that is there if needed.
i think there could be more support from the training provider when it comes to working towards our qualifications
it does help me perform better, when i come across it within the plant i can work straight on it without having to ask someone else to help me. Using the skills and techniques that i have been taught
we have some extra curricular activities but they aren't really well known or talked about much
Yes
because there are a lot of pros than cons. Such as earning decent money and learning at the same time, the support you get is very good. The things you get to do is enjoyable and makes you want to come to work
You dont need to have any previous experience as everything is taught from the basics and everyone is being taught at the same level throughout
