  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Collating and reviewing evidence submitted against open risks found via Pentest teams to ensure it meets the required level to close. Creating reporting for the ongoing tracking of open risks and what is required to close within SLA.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Everything I have learnt about cyber security has been through my apprenticeship, although I had some interest in the area, being able to contextualise the learning in real time via hands on learning through my job has accelerated my learning experience.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Although I wish it was more tailored to suit the deeply technical area of Cyber Security I work in, it has given me a good base to develop from.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Overall I found it to be structured quite well, although as previously stated my only feedback would be to at least point learners in the direction of more technical areas if that is what their role requires, I appreciate this wouldn't make sense in the context of the program.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • 100%, employer has been great throughout and has clearly tried very hard to ensure the success of the learners.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

    10/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I would not be able to conduct my day to day role without the understanding that this qualification has provided me with.

    10/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • No.

    5/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend Barclays to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Great company, great benefits, competitive salaries and amazing initiatives such as this, getting paid whilst learning is not an easy thing to come by and I have greatly appreciated the opportunity.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Barclays?
  • To try and look past the overly complex job descriptions that can often be listed when applying and still try to aim for an area of the company you wish to excel in, bringing enthusiasm to a role can often be enough to succeed.
