Throughout the apprenticeship I have been involved in a number of different teams and gained a wide range of knowledge and skills to be transferred into my career. Communication skills are an integral skill in order to have a successful apprenticeship and have been enhanced throughout.
The apprenticeship is an enjoyable, professional experience where you are able to enjoy working whilst gaining the appropriate skills and knowledge to prepare you for your career outside of the apprenticeship.
The placements and change overs are planned out in first year, therefore you can understand what team you are and when you're there.
Regular communication with placement managers and early careers is present throughout the apprenticeship.
The university isn't up to the same standard as BAE Systems, therefore there are instances of a total lack of support. However, contacting colleagues at early careers helps to prompt support from the university that isn't initially given.
Knowledge gained from the university can mostly be applied in my role.
Although I haven't participated in many, there are many extra-curricular activities available at work.
