  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As an apprentice, BT provide a great rotational scheme where you are rotated though the managed service teams throughout your time as an apprentice. You will be expected to work with our customers and work on tickets that come in.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills which include presentational skills, talking and presenting to senior members of my team, improving my knowledge in the whole world of IT through Tech and at the workplace. You will be offered to complete many useful accreditations such as ITIL and CCNA.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy working at BT as it fosters a pleasant work environment where colleagues are happy to help and the opportunities to develop yourself are numerous.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • As said before, being able to rotate through the teams give you a great insght on what you are aiming to map off to on the completion of the apprenticeship. Training varies from team to team but is generally well structured and help is given when needed.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The flexibility to work from home when needed and managers are pleasant and help you where they can when you re balancing work load and tech work.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Managers will strive to help you when they can, it is in the interest of both BT and your training provider for you to pass and complete the apprenticeship.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Being able to have a further understanding of the tickets I work on really helps me to complete tickets quicker and offer our customer a better experience as the more you understand the more you can be proactive.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • BT is a great company for offering events and volunteering days. I have been in the company for 6 months and I have already been to 6 events, which include a Christmas Party, Bowling, Networking events and volunteering days

  • When applying make sure you know BT's Values and if you get the job it is worth it to say yes to events and challenge yourself!
