As an apprentice, BT provide a great rotational scheme where you are rotated though the managed service teams throughout your time as an apprentice. You will be expected to work with our customers and work on tickets that come in.
I have learnt many new skills which include presentational skills, talking and presenting to senior members of my team, improving my knowledge in the whole world of IT through Tech and at the workplace. You will be offered to complete many useful accreditations such as ITIL and CCNA.
I really enjoy working at BT as it fosters a pleasant work environment where colleagues are happy to help and the opportunities to develop yourself are numerous.
As said before, being able to rotate through the teams give you a great insght on what you are aiming to map off to on the completion of the apprenticeship. Training varies from team to team but is generally well structured and help is given when needed.
The flexibility to work from home when needed and managers are pleasant and help you where they can when you re balancing work load and tech work.
Managers will strive to help you when they can, it is in the interest of both BT and your training provider for you to pass and complete the apprenticeship.
Being able to have a further understanding of the tickets I work on really helps me to complete tickets quicker and offer our customer a better experience as the more you understand the more you can be proactive.
BT is a great company for offering events and volunteering days. I have been in the company for 6 months and I have already been to 6 events, which include a Christmas Party, Bowling, Networking events and volunteering days
