I am given Jira tickets which are mid level priority where I must work on the code to improve features of tools and configuration we use in our everyday business.

Yes there are many online and f-2-f events where we can network and learn about colleagues and what they do to contribute to the business.

They provide support, nurture you as a apprentice allow you independent study and collaborate well as a team.
Make sure you learn a lot of the company goals, vision and what they contribute to the industry. They have many areas with many clients.
