I am a nursery teacher, I woke 4 days a week looking after children. I look out for each child health and wellbeing, safeguarding, happiness and safety on a day to day basis. I help the children learn new things each day and watch them grown into the children they are. I support the children in areas that need help in. And make sure my knowledge is up to date with all new learning skills or training what will help and benefit the children
Yes each day I learn new things for my role, I do this by watching my other staff around me on how they deal with things around the setting and always watching them do hand over to the children parents on what to say and how to deal with certain conversations that may come up. I have grown massively in my confidence and I have done this by making sure my training is always up to do. And making sure I am reading the nursery world magazines to keep my knowledge up-to-date with what is happening around us. By doing all these things I am learning constantly on the job.
I really love my job I think it’s absolutely fantastic and so rewarding in so many different ways. Helping the children grown and learn is such a wonderful thing to be apart of and also making sure they are safe and looked after is so important and to be able to have a part in that for each child is so important to me.
I really have enjoyed doing my level 3 with paragon I also did my level 2 with them so I was familiar on how they did things. I have an amazing teacher who supports me the most and guides me through each topic with the support I need. I am always given lots of help and knowledge to go with each topic what helps lots and everything is very cleaned with where abouts I am at and what I still need to do and when I will be finishing what really helps me.
So much, whenever I have a question or a problem they are always happy to help or give me the right resources to help. Same with my teacher she always open to any questions I have and always makes me feel like I have been listened too. I do have dyslexia and with this I struggle in certain areas and both my employee and my teacher do the most amazing things to help me feel included and heard with my struggles and make my work what I would normally hate doing really enjoy full and fun for me due to the level they go to for me!
So much she also makes sure I have understood what she has said to me from the lesson and if I want to re- go over anything. I have the work sent out in a way that isn’t to overwhelming for me and is easier for me to understand. Whatever I have a question I am always listen to and by the end of the conversation I also feel like I have been respected and my knowledge has grown with doing do. My teacher is always there for me when I need the help and support and has really been a massive part in me enjoying my level 3
So much of my knowledge has come from what I have learnt though my lessons so I think it helps me loads. I am able to hear the things they are telling me and the see it happen at my work place what helps fits everything together. I feel like what I learn from my lessons are very relevant and always kept updated what really helps
Our work team are very close and friendly and we do like to make sure that we all get together to do different activities at times what we are free. We always make sure that we book these in advance to make sure we can find a day that works well for everyone
Yes
It’s a very welcoming experience and environment. All the staff have been extremely helpful with me in helping me understand why things are do in certain ways and why we need to do certain things. The management are just unbelievable. They are so supportive and understanding and really make sure I am always okay and learning and being supportive at all times. I have weekly chats with the manger to make sure I am okay and we go through the things I have learnt new this week, anything I have struggled with and anything questions I have. Having these while being an apprentice really helps as it creates a safe space for you to talk and makes you feel like a member of the team!
Be yourself as they are so accepted to everyone and make everyone feel welcome and heard. So being you is all they will want. Do your best everyday and ask if you need help as it’s very much a strong team and there is always people who are happy to help you and would rather help you then know you are struggling. Be honest and open with them and you’ll have the most amazing experience
