I work within the engineering team for Cummins, currently my daily tasks consist of participating in project meetings, supporting with CAD and Drafting work whilst also dedicating time to my off the job training. I am seeing my responsibilities growing as I am now on a program to become an ESW specialist for the Air Cleaner sub-system.
Yes, having been with Cummins for a few years now I have felt my skills have developed a great deal through the apprenticeship program having first started on a Level 3. I have also learnt countless new skills which are constantly developing as I am exposed to new work and projects.
I feel the apprenticeship program I am on has been a great experience so far and I enjoy going into the office everyday as I am constantly learning new skills and knowledge from the experienced engineers at Cummins.
I feel that the apprenticeship program is well organized and has a good structure from both the side of the company and of the university.
I receive a great deal of support from my employer, everyone in the office is very supportive and great to work with and learn from.
The university has been very supportive as they have a great platform for learning support and my tutor has been very helpful.
I feel like learning knowledge from the qualification and then being able to apply it in my day to day work certainly helps me to perform better in my role.
Yes the company organises professional networking events which have been great for learning more about people in the company. There are also social activities as well which have been great fun.
