Preparation of annual accounts for companies, trusts and charities. Also preparing VAT returns and simple tax computations. Working with clients and bookkeepers to make the process smoother.
Learnt a lot about finance and what goes on in the background of a company.
I enjoy the work side of it, however the apprenticeship work can be intense when combined with work and study leave.
Well structured however was changed halfway through which caused confusion- all clear now though and obvious when I am expected to be where in my journey.
Employer is very generous with study leave and understanding of no overtime etc when on study periods.
The study is good however I feel courses can be rushed and could do with a few more days. Always a tutor on hand to help with queries also.
A lot of the exams have direct knowledge links, however some are less relevant now but could be in the future if I chose to move into industry.
The team is very social, with pub trips most weeks and lots of sporting events and social activities frequently. There is something for everyone.
Yes
The people who work here are great and the job is very interesting. The qualification is challenging but I am well supported, and it is worth it. Can be stressful in our busy periods however!
Be yourself - we are a great mix of people and be passionate about the role and your future opportunities.
