  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Managing the delivery of our programme as well as maintaining staff productivity, learner engagement, sales and stakeholder retainment. Ensuring staff development, identifying any training needs and implementing those across our department. External engagements often involve a lot of face to face events, planning with internal teams etc.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, my apprenticeship has and continues to teach me new methods on management which I actively bring to my team so they in turn can develop themselves further and make for better leaders across our organisation. I have grown in confidence and have learnt to manage up also.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The way this apprenticeship is delivered it revives us as leaders and allows us to return to business refreshed and ready to tackle any situation and try new methods and ways of working. It inspires us to be creative in our management and lead by example. I love it!

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme itself is presented in a way where you can take the skills that you have learnt back to your team and really utilise them in a more focused and dynamic way as opposed to learning too much at once. I feel it is very organised and timed out.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have additional learning needs and in part I am responsible for seeking additional support from my coach when I don't process very well. In the face to face sessions and online sessions however I feel the deliveries accommodate for the different types of learners which helps massively.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We have lots of ways we can receive support either from our peers, our leaders, our coaches and our line managers who are also experiencing this programme in their own way to help us better. This helps us get answers to our questions very quickly and that instant confidence.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel more confident, I procrastinate less, my team act in turn, my colleagues come to me for advice in difficult situations and I feel all round like a more capable leader. They refine the raw skills we already have as leaders and teach us how to react better, quicker, more natural in everyday scenarios so we do become better leaders and more prepared too.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are networking events as part of my role which I try to rotate my team into also so they too can experience the different aspect of the programme. In terms of extra curricular activities, these would be difficult as the way our company works we often have teams spread out all across the different regions but we do try to come together a few times a year and have celebration days or team building events.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Realise to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It is just such a wonderful organisation to work and learn at. I keep in touch with colleagues from previous companies and they too see the difference in my growth. Being happy to work in a morning and really enthusiastic to learn a new skill to pass onto others to better them is something not a lot of other companies do! Realise have got their values and behaviours right and I'm proud to be apart of this journey.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Realise?
  • Forget all your thinking on how companies/training providers usually operate. This one really cares about you and you're development so you in turn can influence others. Realise is a family orientated provider and extremely welcoming. It truly is the principle of right learner, right programme and if you are open to the behaviours it's you vs you in crafting your own success.
