  • Communication and Teamwork are two valuable skills I have been able to develop since starting. Working with multiple stakeholders and being responsible for providing monthly updates quickly taught me how to communicate effectively to ensure full understanding from each stakeholder.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The degree apprenticeship can be challenging at times, especially during busy periods at work and when university deadlines are approaching, however everyone is very supportive and encourages you to do your best. I have been able to get involved with multiple different projects and meetings, allowing me to learn various different skills which has made the experience very enjoyable!

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • As a part of the Sales Degree Apprenticeship scheme, you work in three different roles within the Sales function for 12 months, rotating every September. These include Category Development, Field Sales and Sales Revenue Planning. Your university days are a Friday, and these job roles allow you to maintain a comfortable workload during the week so you can focus on university work on Friday's. There are many support systems in place from the company and the university where you can raise any concerns and they also make sure the scheme is working and organised.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There are many support systems in place within Mondelez. All of the managers are very supportive, and allow you to increase/reduce workload when needed. They are also very encouraging of optimizing experiences and opportunities to gain a wider skill set, which also supports the university work needed across the three years. Monthly apprentice connects are in place to ensure the scheme is going well and you feel supported. They are also good at taking on feedback and actioning things that would benefit/support the apprentices. Mentors and work buddy systems are also set up to provide you with a different type of support for career development, how to navigate work related issues and generally how you're getting on at work.

  • The modules are tailored towards a practical work setting, and assignments are more focused on the application of business theories in a work setting. They help you to develop skills and tools that can be used at work, such as excel, but also how you can implement business theories into the workplace to see better business operations.
