My role for day to day activities is working within the QA department, dealing with customer returns for products and also dealing with repairs. I also visit suppliers and carry out inspections.
I have improved my communication skills as I need to contact people everyday to gather information regarding a problem so I feel more confident approaching new people. I've also been able to apply my IT skills and use them to use different software my company uses.
I enjoy the Selex apprenticeship scheme so much that I enjoy coming to work because I know ill be doing a job I'm both proud of and also enjoy doing. Its a great position to be in.
I feel like I'm constantly part of a team working towards a common goal to meet the business needs. I work side by side of a lot of other engineers in the company so I always feel welcomed and valued.
The structure for my programme is layed out from day 1 and is followed strictly through-out the apprenticeship scheme, this way everybody knows where they're expected to be and it gives them a chance to prepare to do specific jobs.
I receive constant support from all training providers and they are always available is I have any issues or need to sit down and chat with somebody about issues I'm having inside or outside the programme.
My employer also fully supports me in everything I do and takes time out their day to sit down and make sure everything is going well with what im doing.
The salary package for my apprenticeship is not only a good wage for an apprentice but its also a good wage for anybody working at my age. I get annual pay reviews based on performance which is also good motivation to keep working as hard as I can.
There are many opportunities, these can be from doing charity events with the company, days out with co-workers or communicating with the other sites apprentices to see what they are up to in work.
Yes
