  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I'm a risk analyst, my day to day duties are updating and reviewing policies, keeping trackers up to date, reviewing business continuity plans and scheduling policy update reviews.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've learned how to use Excel, gained a much better understanding of Word and PowerPoint, I've learned so much around the area of risk and the precautions in place to keep the organisation secure. I have a great understanding of how royalties are collected and distributed and I'd also say my English skills have improved.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am thoroughly enjoying my programme, I am learning new things everyday at work as well as learning so much through my apprenticeship, my work never really feels repetitive and i always keep myself busy, as this is a completely new type of job for me, I've found it extremely interesting.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is well balanced, I have enough time to do the apprenticeship work given as well as my work in office. Lots of the work set for my studies co-align with my job which is very helpful.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive all the support i need from my employer, if i ever need a hand or am just struggling, I'm pointed in the right direction to speak to the necessary person. My manager always gives the time to sit down and talk through work given and loves to give advice on my apprenticeship work.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My tutor has supported me since day 1, she has been a great help and always finds the time to talk with me if I'm confused on something that's been set. She teaches me in a way that i understand and she has played a major role in getting me through my apprenticeship.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • As i stated before, there is a lot of assignments in my apprenticeship that align with the work i do at my job, this improves my knowledge and skills for my job role, for example i had an assignment on GDPR regulations which plays a huge role in the work I do.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have a wide range of affinity groups to join, an example would be the LGBTQ group which consists of the LGBTQ community, they set up fundraisers and events in the office. We also have an employee who teaches piano lessons after work. We also regularly set up fundraisers.

  • 9a. Would you recommend PRS for Music to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It's a positive place to wok and has a genuine friendly vibe to it. Everybody is treated with respect and is an organisation that genuinely cares about it's employees.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PRS for Music?
  • I'd say just be yourself, there are so many different types of people here and that's what makes it such a fun and interesting place to work.
