In my role as a Software Engineer I analyze data, develop and test code, and work with project stakeholders to form IT solutions.
I had little technical experience prior to starting this apprenticeship. I have developed my technical skills significantly, which involve understanding SQL, Unix, etc. I have also improved my teamwork and presentation skills by attending courses that Capgemini offers.
I thoroughly enjoy my apprenticeship programme. Capgemini looks after their employees well, ensuring we have a healthy work-life balance. My colleagues are friendly and collaborative. I am very happy with my decision to choose this programme over full-time university.
The programme is structured well. I understand when to attend university and deadlines for module submissions. I can balance my university and project work efficiently due to study leave in addition to annual leave.
I receive considerable support from my employer, ensuring there's always someone available to address any questions or concerns I may have.
I am well-supported by my training provider; they offer tutors and a Learning Development Centre to assist me with any work I require help with.
At university, I studied various subjects that have been beneficial in my role, enhancing my confidence in project work, such as working with SQL.
Regular social gatherings are organized for apprentices and graduates to network. Additionally, GameDay events are held where teams compete for prizes, offering both fun and insight.
