I work in data analysis. I develop projects assigned to me that will hold data within Barclays databases. I need to work with different processes within the bank to ensure everyone is working towards the same goal.
Yes, loads. How to create and code tables in SQL How to produce data visualizations The importance of working agilely. Communication
I really enjoy it, it is so interesting, to see and learn all the processes involved, but it is also very challenging at the same time. there have been moments where i have doubted myself but i work with a great team whoa r eon hand to help.
Structured, yes. There is a procedure that you need to maintain and follow when producing your work. This ensures your work is done correctly. As other areas of the bank need your work to progress your own, it is important you keep communicating with other areas of the team, especially if you are facing difficulties progressing.
The support is incredible. My people leader is amazing, cannot do enough for you. As someone who is neuro divergent, it is reassuring to know i have someone to turn to who understands the challenges i face daily.
Plenty. My skills coach has been fantastic and always on hand to help with my apprenticeship.
There are similarities that i can bring into my role but that differs from course to course. Take the SQL course as an example, that is what i use from day to day so was very relevant but Java and programming not so much.
Yes, i frequently play sports, football, squash, with colleagues after work. Socials are always put on for colleagues to.
Yes
Fantastic employer. Cannot do enough for you to see you succeed. From day one they helped my with my physical issues as well as putting me into touch with the correct people to help aid my negro and mental health issues. amazing place to work.
Trust the process. There will be times where you will question your decision, you will feel like you are in over your head, but keep working hard, work with your colleagues and things will click. It wasn't designed to be easy. When you start to struggle and feel demotivated, remember how far you've come.
