I enjoy it to some extent, it has an extensive time commitment and the overwhelming number of resources that need to be read. It can be quite stressful. However, despite these challenges, I have gained valuable insights and knowledge that have contributed to my personal and professional growth. While the process can be frustrating, the benefits I've gained make it worthwhile.
The programme is well-organised and structured, with everything systematically arranged in a platform called Aptem. This system makes it easy to find all the necessary resources and information, streamlining the learning process and ensuring that everything is accessible and manageable. It can sometimes be difficult to get booked in with my coach, and I also had a change of coach half way through the programme due to the initial one leaving. This transition added some challenges, but overall, the structure has remained intact.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. They have provided me with one day a week dedicated to working on the course and occasionally allow work-from-home weeks to help me manage my studies better. My manager has attended all reviews and has been thoroughly prepared. This support has been instrumental in balancing my work and educational commitments.
While I've received a reasonable amount of support from my training provider, it's clear that self-motivation plays a significant role. While they offer resources and guidance, much of the progress depends on personal drive and initiative.
It does contribute to my performance to some extent. The skills/knowledge acquired have certainly enhanced my abilities, allowing me to approach tasks with a broader perspective and greater confidence. However, practical application and continuous experienced-based learning are also vital components in refining my leadership and management capabilities within my role.
Social events at a business-wide level are rare (usually Christmas). They would typically need to be organised by myself or another team member and funded at our own expense and they often require individual initiative. In terms of development rather than social, ASOS are great as they hold x2 'develops' events each year, where you can attend lots of different workshops (food, beauty, wellness, gym, skill development etc)
Yes
Yes, I would definitely recommend ASOS to a friend. I've experienced significant personal and professional growth while being exposed to diverse situations. The office environment is also very welcoming and inclusive.
Be yourself - authenticity is key. Showcasing your genuine personality and passion for what you do will resonate with ASOS's values and culture. Showcase your passion for the fashion industry and willingness for personal growth/development.
