  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Menswear Designer responsible for a department within own-buy ASOS DESIGN brand. My day to day consists of researching and designing into the latest trends, communicating my ideas with suppliers and working directly with the Buyer and Merchandiser of my department to decide on strategy and product direction

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes definitely, I've learnt lots of theory and methods to conduct various aspects of leadership, and its been a nice reminder of what skills I already have and behaviours I already practice, and how to improve them.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have enjoyed it, and have found it great to be outside my comfort zone, however its been a lot of work, and quite hard to stay on top of my time management balancing normal workload and the course, particularly in busy periods and when travelling for work.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very, I enjoy the Aptem portal and find it very organised and easy to see deadlines and timelines

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Lots, my manager was very willing to help provide performance testimonies and opportunities for me to create and evidence behaviours for my portfolio, as well as being flexible to my hours needed to complete the course and offering support and suggestions throughout.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • A fair bit, I attended all my scheduled check ins and was aware that I could have extra time with my coach if needed. My coach was always available on email also

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I'm more self aware and aware of others and it has given me lots of insight into decision making, project management and developing others

  • Yes - loads.

  • Yes

  • Its fun, fast paced and the people are great


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to ASOS?
  • Be creative in everything you do! Know the customer and be willing to think outside the box
