  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work as a bus driver and my role is to drive designated routes on a daily basis taking people from point A to B.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • As it is my first role as a bus driver I had to learn everything from the start. I had no bus driving license which means the Stagecoach gave me opportunity to do obtain one and i developed customer service skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I do like one to one sessions as well as online ones. I learn quite a lot since my apprenticeship started.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • |t's quite organised. Each session we do something different. I have learned many things during the apprenticeship but it has been disrupted by COVID.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer releases me whenever possible.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Whenever I have a question or additional materials to work with I'm provided with it. I am encouraged to push myself to achieve as much as I can.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that the apprenticeship has prepared me for any problems that I may encounter at work. I can follow company procedures and ensure a satisfactory outcome for all.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We do have a football matches against different depots. We do have Christmas night out.

  • Yes

  • I work with people always willing to help. If I follow the rules, I have a job for life.

  • If you would like to work with the public and enjoy driving, go for it.
