  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Creating data workflows for products/services across the Tech estate, highlighting inefficiencies and areas of potential opportunity to improve efficiency.

    9/10

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a multitude of new skills, from basic excel functions to writing custom queries with different syntax.

    10/10

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed the course content and felt it was relevant to my new role. I've found it challenging to apply some new skills in business context due to scope of my role or having the opportunity to apply.

    10/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I found the training provider gave clear guidelines on requirements and future workshop dates, information was kept specific to our cohort. The information from Barclays was very generalised across different cohorts and grad programmes, this caused confusion at times and unnecessary email/message traffic. Once we were assigned a coach for our cohort this did reduce.

    10/10

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received support from my LM and the Barclays coach, however, having protected time to complete projects was not as expected.

    8/10

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training coach was always available to contact for support, either as a group or 1:1. Deepali kept me on track by providing evenly spaced deadlines for project work and feedback was discussed in detail.

    10/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I have gained fundamental knowledge, this enables me to understand architecture, how to access data along with limitations/restrictions. I have a solid foundation of writing code and understand factors which should be taken in to consideration.

    10/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Lot's of activities are available.

    10/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend Barclays to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Barclays provide great opportunity to develop skills and learn new ones. I'm very grateful for the funding of my apprenticeship which has enabled me to move into a Tech role and broaden my skillset.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Barclays?
  • Always be enthusiastic and ready for change. Nothing stays the same for very long so be prepared to work on new things with different people. Stay alert and absorb knowledge and skills that you are exposed to.
