I spend my time in a mixture of studying at times but mostly I spend my time performing accountancy admin tasks to clarify client information for accountants to perform their jobs. As well as submit VAT Returns and confirmations statements for businesses to Companies' House and His Majesties Revenue and Customs
I had no prior skills in accountancy and since starting here I have in my own opinion flourished in a job in which I had no experience. The opportunities to develop my existing skills, such as math and English, have also improved exponentially.
I enjoy my current course as a whole although the amount of information can be daunting at times it's not hard to take a moment and approach it from another angle making it easier to interpret.
I would say the mixture between work and study is very well balanced and the course work is well structured with plenty of time to study in between each lesson.
I receive a lot of support from my employer through monthly 1-1 meetings to discuss how the prior week has gone and what I felt could be improved on. When working if there are any parts I am unsure of, my managers always take a minute to see what the issue is and help me work out the issue.
I receive an adequate amount of support from out training provider and they always make sure we understand the subject and ask if we have any inquiries before moving on.
Through studying with the training provider I am able to get a more whole picture of what accountancy is and what my job, once training is completed, will be like. It really helps bring a real sense of the role I am aiming towards.
There is always an opportunity to hang out with colleagues after work through on of us as individual putting forward an idea and then seeing if anyone is up to hang out. Often this is a yes.
Yes
Because it is a friendly and well knitted working environment with plenty of opportunity for growth.
Be yourself.
