  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is focused around financial reporting to help and aid in project management. My day-to-day activities include supporting an Engagement Manager, producing financial reports for daily, monthly and weekly meetings and manage project finances, future forecasts and overall management. I am also involved in future Capgemini initiatives that will help the future of the company.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes. My human skills in teamwork, organisation and collaboration has developed. Furthermore, I have learn new skills surrounding different tooling used within the company, but also around the use of word, PowerPoint and especially the flexibility of excel. I am also gaining more skills through my attendance at Aston University, applying the knowledge gained into my role.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme. As a new apprentice, it has been a really positive start for me at Capgemini. The company has lots of benefits and always look to support me in training and in my role. My colleague are all very supportive, and the blend between my assignment work and my university work allow for them to work hand in hand with each other.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very organised and structured. There are organised monthly meetings to ensure reporting is accurate, organised office days and events to help with networking, and the availability to join different communities is massive. The structure of the company is strong, there are lots of different levels and support levels, with new roles able to be created if needed to help support people. It is a very strong business model.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Complete support. I feel very supported by my line manager and my team colleagues, who are always willing to help me in my training and in my day-to-day role. Furthermore, there is support from an assignment area, where different Engagement Managers and Leads are there to help and support me as a young apprentice. I have a specific people manager where I have weekly meetings to ensure any questions are answered and to help me with BAU processes. As an overall company, there are multiple Teams channels to help you with any queries, and support teams who are always open to a chat.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I do get support. I have a specific assigned university lead who I have 3-monthly meetings with where we review my OTJ hours, my assignments and any help I may require and then we look forward to obtaining my qualification. Furthermore, the different lectures do offer their support and time where you can contact them around a query.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification and knowledge gained from Aston University has definitely helped me in my role. My communication skill course has positively helped me in communicating with my team and positively contributing to different meetings. My financial management course has aided my own financial understanding when running financial reports and liasing with my engagement managers around their project finance.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes. I am part of the Early and Emerging Talent Team (EET) and I have been involved in planning an office day and nightly social event where it was a pool and bingo event. Furthermore, within my assignment area I have been involved in planning a football table tournament and we have monthly engagement days where we can network over a free lunch.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Capgemini to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Capgemini really looks after its employees. There are so many benefits that us as employees are offered, the ability to network is high, you can branch out from your normal work and get involved in events that you are personally interested in and the opportunity to rotate around the business to further your own skills is off the charts. Overall, Capgemini is my ideal company and I would recommend it to anyone.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?
  • Just review and learn about the company. It is a specific type of job, working in IT, so make sure you are happy and have a passion about the role you are going to join. Furthermore, just research the company when applying so you can apply with the facts and knowledge. Overall, just know that your first role you apply to isn’t going to be your forever role, so understand that there are further opportunities in the company when you join.
