I support in all sub-departments of my area, this includes programme planning/ order management, production steering, and distribution. Recently, my main area of focus has been order management. Within this role I have been scheduling orders for production, dealing with order changes, transferring existing reports to new and improved platforms, as well as creating new reports to increase visibility.
Yes, I have dramatically increased my data analytical skills not only through daily business but my team have also supported me by enabling me to complete my level 2 and level 3 in data analytics. This has meant that I can create reports that support all sub-departments. I have also been given the opportunity to progress in areas that I felt as though I personally struggle in such as presentations.
I would say the programme is rather enjoyable. Some areas are better structured than others but this is always bound to be the case as some areas are har to cover when there is such a large group of apprentices to cover. Communcation can occasionally be a trouble but this has improved since the introduction of an additional advisor.
The organisation of the programme has increased in the past year, before this it was rather poor in areas. Some areas of the company are better structured than others and I think this could be down to a production/office apprentice split. There can often be a confusion about who apprentices are required to report to due to a range of managers (apprentice advisor, department manager, process leader, process supporter, etc.)
There are many levels of support within RRMC, however I believe production apprentices may feel as though do not have as many options as office apprentices. This can also be difficult due to the amount of apprentices that have to be supported. Overall, I know there are a range people I can go to if I am after information or any other sort of support but these routes may need to be communicated better.
The support from the university is very good. We have an easy way to contact our work-based tutors thorugh an online platform and we have also been provided with emails for academic support as well as mental support if needed. Tripartite reviews are also very helpful as we are given advice and goals in these sessions.
I would say some areas of my degree enable to perform better in my role but at times it feels as though my degree is not best suited to the role I am in. The content we are taught each week is done in a way so that it is applicable to a range of industries; I understand the purpose of this but it can be rather difficult to apply this to our industry as examples are usually based around construction.
There are many apprentice social events as well as non-apprentice events. We are also given the opporutnity to take part in activties that benefit the areas around Goodwood such as school events. There are many sports challenges/ teams as well as an abundence of charity events that raise money for our yearly house charity.

It is an incredible company to work for, not just due to the products that are created but also for the support and opportunities that you are offered. It is an extremely prestigious company and is very impressive to have on your CV. There is a great community within the company and it is a happy place to work.
Team work and collaboration are very important values to the company, this is important to bear in mind when thinking about your approach to any questions you may be presented with. Hardwork is also vital, there can be times where you have to give a lot of your time and effort and this can be difficult but also extremely awarding.
