My role involves managing the finance and governance for multiple projects within my business area. ensuring budgets are tracked, forecasting and time booking is accurate. and ensuring that all governance and forms are completed on time and accurately by the PM
yes many. developing my knowledge of governance cycles and what is needed to remain with regulations. improving my communication and interpersonal skills. improving my efficacy in excel. improving my understanding of the finances and how to manage them for my projects and for the wider area
the program was good. it taught me a lot about the fundamentals of change and being a change agent and it allowed me to work flexibly alongside my full time role. the coaches are really helpful and knowledgeable. one negative was that course details were not always applicable to my role.
very well. it was clearly laid out at the beginning an this was stuck to. each month we had a learning module, a workshop session and an assignment to complete, all building up to the final assessments at the end.
my line manager was great throughout. he allowed me to be flexible with when i would work on the apprenticeship and would always provide assistance if needed. my assigned mentor was also very helpful, providing all apprentices with valuable resources and an extra person to offer help if needed.
a lot. my coach was excellent. very attentive, understanding and put in a lot of effort to make sure every one was happy and understood. i was able to reach out whenever i needed help and she was always willing to provide while also ensuring that i understood. the workshop sessions were very informative and engaging.
overall i think that it has made me more effective at my role, however, i don't think all of the skills that i learned i will be able to apply in my current role.
yes. Barclays lays on many different events both social and professional. these are a great way to meet new colleagues, develop new working relationships and network. also to take a break.
Yes
overall it is a great place to work. i have been here for almost 3 years and have been in 2 different roles. ultimately there are so many different things you can do at the company and they are very good at internal moves and offering training and qualifications if you want to change careers, like i did.
be open and honest about you and what you want. if the role you are applying for is not the right fit for you its possible a different role is and the interviewer might suggest this as an alternative.
