I am working closely with my tutor to better myself in my current job role as a carer. We have monthly zoom calls and she checks on my progress regularly through my onefile online uploads. Making me a better to keep people's dignity and care for them on a daily basis.
At the moment I'm constantly improving the skills I already have and I'm developing my skills at a good rate in the hope I pass my course to the best of my ability. I'm learning all the time in my job role and I am working to improve myself.
I enjoy the fact that I have my tutor in the background most of the time, she is a constant reminder that I am doing this for myself and her support is brilliant to have. I'm enjoying learning new things on a daily basis and improving my own skills etc.
My programme is very well organised. If I get stuck on anything or don't understand anything all it takes is a quick email to my tutor and she sets me back on the right path or tells me where I went wrong or explains how a question is worded.
My employer is very supportive. She is constantly letting me know how well I'm doing and that's she happy for me that I'm doing my course. She gives me encouragement a lot and reminds me that she is on hand if I need to ask her anything or speak to her about anything.
My training provider is very supportive towards me. She reminds me that she only an email, text message or phone call away if I need to speak to her or if I need to ask her advice on anything I'm working on. She is constantly challenging me as well in maths and English to ensure I get the best marks I can.
My qualification is helping me to look at certain situations in more detail or differently which in turn is helping me to improve my skills all the time. In my role every day is different and every service user is different , so the constant learning definitely helps me and improves how I perform my role.
We don't have sports teams or networking events, but I sometimes go out to lunch with several colleagues so we get to know each other on a personal level and we can discuss our day/job.
Yes
Harbour healthcare is a good company to work for, I hadn't done care work before starting in this role and I wouldn't like to work anywhere else.
Always be honest, punctual and professional in your role and they will look after you. Always dress in the correct uniform and don't take lots of time off and enjoy your job.
