Preparing for and performing In Vivo and In Vitro assays in the genetic toxicology department. My responsibilities include preparation work, performing multiple different assays, training members of staff, communicating with study directors, maintaining excellent GLP, documenting procedures, as well as collecting and analysing data from the experiments
I am always learning new skills throughout my job. I have been given the opportunity to learn different aspects of the lab and gain on already existing skills such as communication and team-work
I enjoy doing my apprenticeship, I have made lots of people and learnt lots of skills and knowledge that will help me in the future. Work and the university are very supportive through out the programme.
My programme is very well structure, although the tasks and lectures are online, it is still very engaging and I am able to handle the workload given. The unit leaders are very supportive and easy to talk to. They’re always friendly to approach and great at helping
My employer is very supportive, I am always given time for uni. I get a study day every Monday and I am also given time at work if need be to catch up so I don’t have to use lots of time at the weekends.
Uni is very supportive with anything I need to ask or need support with, they help to guide with things that would help and always offer help with any questions I have throughout.
The qualification is helping me to get a deeper and greater understanding of the science behind what I do at work, it helps with my knowledge and understanding but also with my development within the company, and my ability to train others
There is an employee engagement committee that organise out of work activities and events that everyone is welcome to attend
