  • Once qualified at level 2 I will be set on placements across the site and on the submarine to undertake in order to gain experience shadowing more experienced individuals and gain hands on knowledge myself.

  • During this apprenticeship I have learnt many skills that come with hands on work including communication and networking skills

  • I enjoy my programme largely. I have met new people and gained an invaluable skill

  • As a whole it is well organised however some minor setbacks have been experienced so far

  • The support from my employer is vast. BAE offer many different services for all problems that may arise including mental health problems

  • We are offered a lot of support to gain our qualifications including the option of a mentor to help guide you through the process making it easier for you to understand.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Furness college despite sometimes having a lack of tutors still tries to ensure that all lessons are covered and we are learning every lesson

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are many including hosting events around the area in schools and out of schools teaching the town what we do at BAE

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • BAE offer many different roles for anything you can think of. From a lawyer to a nuclear engineer you can do whatever role you would like. As well as this the pay is good


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Be open don’t set out wanting a specific role learn about all the different roles and then make your final decision on what you would like to go for
