On a daily basis I go out on site to record activities taking place on site. I check work as it's being completed to ensure that it is being built to the specification. I am also involved with sustainability on this project.
Whilst on this project I have learned more about setting out and what to look out for on site. I have also learned to fly a drone on this project.
I am really enjoying my project.
The programme is really well organised and structured.
I feel really supported on the project that I am currently on, my team have allowed me to reach my best potential both at work and at university.
Nottingham Trent has been pretty good but unfortunately some lecturers don't understand that apprentices work full time and therefore can't do sessions that are on a working day.
Some of the modules definitely give me a better understanding of what is happening on site and why it is happening. Not all modules align with my role but that is to be expected as civil engineering is a very varied role.
The project I'm on runs fortnightly football, and arranges social activities such as bowling. The project will also be running a networking event for ICE in June.

Balfour Beatty is a really welcoming and supportive company with so many wonderful staff that you can rely on. I am very happy working for Balfour Beatty and I feel very proud to be apart of this company.
Definitely apply! If you get an interview then just be yourself.
